STICKER AD INEXPLORATA - "Toward the Unexplored". The official emblem of the U.S. Air Force Flight Test Center was approved in May of 1953. It depicts a cloud layer separating a desert landscape from the black unknown of outer space upon which is superimposed an aerodynamic shape with shock waves symbolizing the Center’s flight test and research mission. “Ad Inexplorata,” the Center’s official motto, is Latin for “Toward the Unexplored.”
